Privacy Policy
Calculator & Converters is a calculator, unit and currency converter, tip splitter and voice-input utility. This policy explains what information the app processes, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific — the app collects as little as possible, needs no account, and uses no AI/LLM service.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Nothing is required. There is no sign-up and no account. Your calculations, conversions, history and settings are stored only on your device.
Information collected automatically
- Advertising data — the app shows a banner ad served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, and coarse device information to serve and measure ads. Where required (for example the EEA and UK), you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.
- Usage analytics — anonymous app-interaction events and general device information (model, OS version) via Google Firebase Analytics, used to understand which features matter and improve the app.
- Crash diagnostics — crash logs and the device state at the time of a crash via Google Firebase Crashlytics, used to find and fix problems.
- Currency rate requests — fetching live exchange rates sends a standard web request to the rate service; it contains no personal data.
Microphone (voice input)
The microphone is used only while you actively use the voice-input button, to turn your speech into a calculation. Speech recognition is performed by your device's built-in Google speech service. The app does not record, store, or transmit audio anywhere.
How we use your information
- To operate the app's features (including live currency rates).
- To understand usage and improve the app.
- To find and fix crashes.
- To show ads that keep the app free.
- To provide support when you contact us.
Services we share data with
We use the following service providers to run the app. We share only what each service needs to perform its function, and nothing more:
- Google Firebase — analytics and crash reporting (Firebase privacy).
- Google AdMob — advertising (how Google uses ad data).
- open.er-api.com — live currency exchange rates (receives only a standard rate request, no personal data).
We do not sell personal data.
Data retention and deletion
- Your calculations, history and settings live only on your device — clear them from the app's History screens, or remove everything by clearing the app's data or uninstalling.
- Analytics and crash data are retained per Google's standard retention periods.
- You can email us at spintechstudio@gmail.com to request access to or deletion of data associated with your device, and we will action it within 30 days.
Your choices
- Withdraw or change ad-personalisation consent where the consent prompt applies to you.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings at any time.
- Use the app fully offline — every feature except live currency rates works without a connection.
Children
Calculator & Converters is a general-audience utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
